Variety Is The Spice Of Life

Vary your exercise regimen. It not only prevents boredom, but it keeps your mind occupied and your body in top shape. I know some would have you believe that you should only lift weights, others might tell you run 3 to 5 times a week on a track or treadmill, still another might say swim or bike everyday. Who do you believe? What I have found to be true is to vary your routine. Telling someone to do the same fitness routine everyday, the same way, is like telling you to just to eat carrots everyday. Now carrots are a good food source, however, a variety of different foods meets nutritional needs best. This is the same truth as a fitness regimen.

So, run and walk, lift weights, swim when you can, walk in the mall, exercise with your dog, my point is to have many choices of exercise. Exercising with a buddy prevents boredom. Some benefits are; you can motivate each other, have a conversation that can be delightful or help clear the air. If you dont have a friend to exercise with, try a pet. Im never bored when I walk with my dogs. We all look forward to getting out in nature and walking on a new path. When you vary your routine, your body is at its healthiest.

What is sad? Our children choosing not to exercise or play hardly at all. When children or young people just watch television, play video games, eat junk in place of a nutritious meals, the consequences of such behavior is gargantuan, leading to an unfit and diseased populous. What can you do? Tell your children to run and play, make up games and get their friends involved, get involved with them in a sport or dance program that's what you can do. Let's all turn off the television at least until weve exercised.
