Diving

Author: Jimmy Sturo

Defined by adventure, thrill and courage, diving is an adventure sport that refers to acrobatically jumping or falling into water. Recognized internationally, diving is also a part of the Olympic Games. Apart from being a profession, diving is also a popular recreational activity for adventure lovers.

From traditional diving, the sport has now turned into a full-fledged adventure sport at both professional and recreational levels. Scuba, sky and cliff diving are some of the popular forms of diving, each beckoning the sport lovers for a unique, exalting experience. Offering a memorable underwater experience, scuba diving is one of the most popular forms of diving. Cliff diving adds some more thrills to the sport, wherein a diver splashes down into water from a high cliff. Skydiving lets one feel the vastness of the sky as one plunges from an aircraft into the air.

Whether it is scuba diving, cliff diving or sky diving, utmost attention needs to be given to the physical requirements of the diver, to avert any sort of physiological or psychological hassles while diving. People with physical ailments like bone disorders, diabetes, heart problems and high blood pressure are told not to dive. Before you decide to take the plunge, it is imperative to consult a physician to avoid any health problems.

As a profession, as well as a hobby, diving requires extensive training and guidance. There are innumerable training institutes all over the globe, which train people for varied types of diving. Courses are available for novices as well as advanced learners.

In today's fast-paced life, one hardly gets time to indulge in activities that offer physical as well as mental rejuvenation. Taking a break from the mundane everyday routine by diving can be a memorable experience to last a lifetime.
