Cell Phone Screensavers

Author: Kevin Stith

The number of cell phone users has witnessed an unprecedented growth the world over. Thats probably why the cell phone market is flooded with all kinds of accessories and add-ons for cell phones. Many people spend a lot of time with their cell phones. When theyre not using it, they like to watch it. These users have successfully established the need for Cell Phone Screensavers. Cell Phone Screensavers are like all other screensavers; they get activated when a cell phone has been inactive for a certain period of time. This period of time is defined by the user.

Cell Phone Screensavers are not as easy to procure as screensavers for computers. However, since the market for them is expanding fast, there is bound to be a corresponding increase in the variety of screensavers that are available, as well as means by which they can be added to a cell phone. Currently, Cell Phone Screensavers are built-in, can be downloaded from the internet or obtained from the service provider who provides the cell phone connection.

Built-in Cell Phone Screensavers are provided by the manufacturer of the cell phone and pre-installed in a cell phone handset. Some manufacturers provide users with only one option while others provide more than one. The internet provides users with more options. Before downloading screensavers from the internet, users should gain knowledge of the size of the cell phone screen. The screen size of commonly used cell phones could be 128X128, 101X80, 128X160, 176X220, or 174X132. However, it is always a good idea to confirm the screen size as well as compatibility issues with the manufacturer of the cell phone before downloading screensavers on it. Currently, there seem to be many more options for the 128X128 category, than for others.

Service providers of cell phone connections also make screensavers available to users from time to time. When a movie becomes very popular, or a sporting event is about to take place, or some other grand event is taking place, cell phone service providers facilitate the downloading of commemorative screensavers for users. Sometimes, these are free, while other times they need to be purchased.

However, compared to computer users, there are only a limited number of screensaver options available for cell phone users. Yet with brisk advancements being made in cell phone technology and screensaver technology, it will not be long before more options are likely to be available to Cell Phone Screensaver users.
